Color red
The river
The pale eyes is a symbol of connection. The giver and Jonas both have pale eyes so it shares a special bond between them both.
The river symbolizes the boundary between Jonas and the rest of the world.
The sled symbolizes Jonas first memory.
The sled symbolizes the journey Jonas takes during his training and the discovers he makes. The sled also symbolizes freedom.
Rosemary symbolizes memory.
The apple is a symbol of life. The apple is his window into the world of human experiences.
The color red symbolizes the first time Jonas saw color. It also symbolizes fire, passion, and love.
Gabriel symbolizes the next receiver of memory,

what is symbolism?
Symbolism: a word or object that represents something.
For example:
a dove represents peace.
Example of allusion:
The apple is an allusion to the "forbidden fruit" from the Tree of Knowledge in the biblical story of Adam and Eve.
The name Jonas is an allusion to Jonah in the Bible. Jonah is chosen by God to fix the actions on a sinful city.
Meanings to names:
Gabriel is God's messenger who appeared to Mary to tell her that she was going to give birth to Christ.
Rosemary is a symbol for the herb. Rosemary enhances your memory. in the book the old receiver of memory was named Rosemary.
We believe that the film is better than the book. we think this because we learn better from the visualization skill.

We also like the movie better then the book because in the movie there is more romance then the book.
In the movie the chief elder is the villain.
The movie is more scientific then the book is.
Memory loss can be reversed.
The characters are older in the movie then the book.
Somethings didn't happen in the book that happened in the movie.
