Transcript of CFC and Ozone

Chlorofluorocarbon is a big scary word just kidding.
0zone = 3 oxygen atoms
- bad at low altitudes
-good at high altitudes
-protects against UV light by filtering it
-depletion means cancer. So what are CFC's? Who makes them? Companies like DuPont before they were banned How they were made:
HCCl3 + 2 HF → HCF2Cl + 2 HCl CCl ->CCl F+Cl 3 2 Just like how UV radiation is blocked by the spliiting of ozone, the same splitting happens with CFC's Cl+O ->ClO +O 3 2 We got a problem. BAN IT Still growing - 2006 graph, 2020 and 2050 In Summary... UV light works efectivly like a catalyst. The extra clorine bonds with the ozone, killing its UV protection By Cory R.
