Are you looking for a part-time job? The Pen Centre is Niagara’s largest shopping mall featuring a wide range of retail and food services.

Find out what opportunities are out there for you by attending the Shop for Jobs Fair at the Pen Centre September 11th, 2012
12:00 PM - 6:00 PM

The Brock Community booth located by
the Green Earth store (near the Bay)

You will be provided with a list of participating stores and have an opportunity
to ask any questions you may have
about the event

From here, you will be ready to network
with store representatives

Don’t forget to fill out a ballot
for a change to win a $100 gift card! What Stores are Participating? How to Prepare Before attending the event,
visit the Pen Centre website to
research the participating stores

Have a good understanding of their products/services and make note of any questions you may want to ask them. It is important to also update
your resume and cover letter

Print multiple copies to bring
with you to the event Company representatives will be interested in learning
more about you.

Be prepared to introduce yourself and
discuss your skills, education, previous
work/volunteer experiences and your
long term career goals Make a positive first impression! Practice your interview skills
ahead of time.

Don’t forget to dress for success!
Wear professional business attire
and wow your interviewer! Check In! CAREER SERVICES What to DO and what NOT to DO Do research on participating organizations before attending the event by visiting their website.

Do prepare your resume and cover letter for each employer and bring copies to the event

Do make a good first impression by dressing professionally, being attentive and asking great questions.

Do practice how to introduce yourself and talk about your skills and experiences.

Do bring writing materials and make notes if necessary

Do thank the interviewers for their time and consideration Do Not make inappropriate comments that make you look unprepared such as “ I didn’t know about this event” or “What position are you hiring for?” (You should already know this)

Do Not chew gum, wear jeans, smell like smoke or wear too much perfume

Do Not have your cell phone on during the event or respond to text messages when speaking to an employer

Do Not disregard companies because they are recruiting for positions outside of your our field

Do Not be intimidated by the recruiter; Be prepared and show your confidence!
