Cost involved in cloud computing
To conduct forensic investigation on Cloud Server / Services
On demand storage
Cloud Based OS
Web service
What are the advantages with Azura?
Prezi founded in 2009
Session Objectives:
Cloud Storage
Cloud Mail
Weakest link in cloud computing is the internet connection, server outage, confidential data which have to be on site....
The beauty of cloud computing is another company host the applications, they handle the cost of servers, manage the software updates and takes the responsibility to maintain the services. For the users- less investment to buy the servers, no power problem... or cooling... it's very convenient for the remote workers.
Application integration might be an issue if the organisation has one application in house and wants to access the data from another application from cloud.
Components of Cloud
Client Computers
Distributed Servers
Data center
Data center is the collection of servers, where the application to which you subscribe is housed. IT virtualisation is the solution where many different servers will be hosted into one physical server.
Lower Hardware Cost (investment is low, last longer)
Lower IT Costs as it will , there are fewer points of failure as well
Security: No hard Drive therefore less security risks, less chance of being physically stolen.
Data security is high if the client computer crashes.
Less power consumption, easy to replace, less noise
Hardware as a Service (HaaS)
Azure Service Platform
Outsourcing Cloud Service?
Advantages of using cloud service
Other factors needs to be considered before using Cloud:
Advantages of using SaaS,
IaaS, PaaS
Computer Clouds
Cloud Storage (Amazon's S3)
Cloud Application (P2P Computing, Web applications like MySpace or YouTube, Google Apps etc)
Cloud mail
Reduce IT management cost
Cloud Storage Solutions
Software as a Service (SaaS)is the model in which an application is hosted as a service to the customers who access it via the internet. Customers don't need to maintain or support it.
Thin Clients
Thick / Fat Client
IT Virtualisation / Cloud Computing
The ultimate solution?
Advantages of using thin client with cloud
Distributed Server
GRID Computing
Benefits of SaaS ???
Do you need PaaS to implement the SaaS?

Where SaaS and PaaS are providing applications to customers, HaaS doesn't. It simply offers the hardware so that your organisa can put whatever they want onto it.
It tends to be less expensive to run an application on a cloud than to invest in the infrastructure, buy the application outright, and then manage it day by day. However, over time, it may cost more to pay the cloud subscription than to have simply bought the server
Integration with existing applications
Latency concern
Knowledgeable vendors
Service Level Agreement (SLA)
Privacy, Security, Cross Border Data Protection
Reduce Data Loss
Monitoring is easier
Instant Swapover
Improved security
Google App Engine
Write code once and deploy
Absorb spikes in traffic
Easily integrate with other Google service
What about Google Web Toolkit?
Is there any cost involved?
Software as a Service (SaaS):
Software as a service (or SaaS) is a way of delivering applications over the Internet—as a service. Instead of installing and maintaining software, you simply access it via the Internet, freeing yourself from complex software and hardware management.

SaaS applications are sometimes called Web-based software, on-demand software, or hosted software. Whatever the name, SaaS applications run on a SaaS provider’s servers. The provider manages access to the application, including security, availability, and performance.
How does it works? Is there any advantages of using SaaS?
Platform as a Service (PaaS)
Platform as a Service (PaaS) is a delivery of a computing platform over the web. PaaS enables you to create web applications quickly, without the cost and complexity of buying and managing the underlying software/hardware.
PaaS provides all the facilities required to support the complete life cycle of building and delivering web applications entirely on the web.
Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) is available as a service, the developer get full control of the application development and deployment. PaaS enables developers to create custom web applications and deliver it quickly, as many of the hassles like setting up hosting, servers, databases, user interaction process and frameworks are prepackaged.
Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
IaaS gives the users self-service, on-demand access to the IT resources based on business policy. Automated provisioning lets the users accessing the infrastructure they need in minutes instead of weeks or months. Key advantages of using IaaS are:
Degree of automation available to the end user
User's own configuration
Charge per hour etc.
