An inequality is a mathematical sentence that compares two values using an inequality symbol.
On a number line, the values of the numbers increase as you move to the right and decrease as you move to the left.
When writing inequalities to describe relationships, identify the appropriate inequality symbol for the situation.

Inequalities based on the number line above:
Identify key terms or phrases in verbal sentences.
Georgia ran at most 14 miles last week.
Henry read at least 3 chapters in his novel last night.
Cassidy earned less than $20 allowance this summer.
Peyton missed school no more than 2 times all year.
Bobby played no less than 17 games last season.
Monica has more than 4 best friends.
Translate the verbal sentences into inequalities.
