A Full History of One of the Worlds
Greatest Comic book Companies

In the year 1933 Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel created a well known character named Superman. When his planet explodes and hes the last survivor, Superman is sent to Earth. However, this character was originally gonna be a telepathic super villain bent on world domination! After a short story called "The Reign of the Superman" he was re-imagined. The name Clark Kent came from movie stars Clark Gabel and Kent Taylor. DC soon purchased the rights to Superman and released Action Comics #1 which was released on April 18th 1938. Today Superman is one of the most beloved but also hated superheroes.

After Superman was such a success they decided that they needed someone else! Batman was just what they needed. In May, 1939 Batman first appeared in Detective Comics #27. Bruce Wayne has had many alter egos including "The Batman", "The Dark Night", "Batman", and "The Worlds Greatest Detective". Over the years, Batman has had many "sidekicks". They are referred to as "The Bat Family" which includes Batman, Nightwing, Red Robin, Red Hood, Batgirl, Batwoman, and Robin.
Superman's Alien name is Kal El!
Number 2 on the IGN's top 100 superhero list!
Batman prefers to work alone.
Famous Batman graphic novels include "The Killing Joke", and "The Dark Knight"
Created by writer Gardner Fox and artist Harry Lampert The Flash first appeared in Flash Comics #1 in January 1940. Jay Garrick was struck by lightning and exposed to many chemicals which gave him super speed! Barry Allen (who was another Flash) was killed when sacrificing himself to save everyone in the universe. No big deal.
Jay Garrik, Barry Allen, Wally West, Jesse Quick, and Bart Allen are known as "The Speedsters" as they all possess super speed.
The Flash's nemesis is known as "The Reverse Flash". No. He does not move super slow nor can he only go super fast backwards.
The Flash and Flash Gordon have no relationship.
The Flash has a hit T.V. show on The CW
Captain Marvel was created by artist C. C. Beck and writer Bill Parker. He first appeared in Wiz Comics #2 in February of 1940. In 2011 Captain Marvel was named Shazam for copyright reasons. Shazam is the alter ego of Billy Batson. A boy who was given powers by an old wizard. When ever he shouts Shazam he gains many powers and becomes full grown! Shazam has a movie set to come out during 2019 with Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam (Shazams nemesis).
S.h.a.z.a.m stands for the following. S- The wisdom of SOLOMON H- The strength of HERCULES A- The stamina of Atlas Z- The power of ZUEZ A- The courage of ACHILLES M- The speed of MERCURY.
The Green Lantern Corp are basically the galactic police. The corp is filled with all kinds of species from all sorts of planets. Every member has a different space secter to protect. Secter 2814 (Our solar system) has been protected by many people such as (in order)Alan Scott, Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner, John Stewart, Kyle Rayner, and Simon Baz. Once someone becomes a Green Lantern they are given a power ring. This can create "constructs." Constructs can be anything. The ring runs on will power

Blue Lanterns: Hope
Red Lanters: Rage
Sinestro Corp: Fear
Orange Lantern: Greed
Indigo Tribe: Compassion
Purple Lantern: Love
White Lantern: Life
Black Lantern: Death

Oliver Queen is a millionair but then he crashed on an island and everyone thought he was dead he had to learn to survive. In time he forged a bow and became incredibly accurate with it. Soon he found a way back to Starling City and began to fight crime. Oliver soon acquired a sidekick. His name is Roy Harper and he goes under the alias of Speedy. He soon became Red Arrow than eventually Arsenal.
Green Arrow has a hit show called "Arrow" on The CW.
In the 1970s their was a storyline known "Green Arrow and Green Lantern!"
Aquaman was created by Paul Norris and Mort Weiseninger in November 1941. He first appeared in More Fun Comics #73. Aquaman's first comicbook came out in January 1962. In his first comic he had Aqualad on his side. In the 1990's Aquaman had his arm cut off and replaced with a harpoon. Aquaman has been harshed on for most of his excitence, but if all goesas planned, after seeing the movie coming out in 2018 people should give him some respect!
Jason Mamoma (who will be playing Auaman) played Khal Drogo in the hit TV show "Game of Thrones"

Wonder Woman was created in December 1941 by writer William Moulton Marston. Wonder Woman (also know as Princess Diana of Themyscira) was raised as an amazon warrior. She learned to fight and fly. Armed with a sword and her lasso of truth, not only does she fight common crime, but she also fights anything that disrupts justice. Wonder Woman is one of the main Justice Leaguers and can be found in her own movie in 2017.
Gale Gabot will be playing Wonder Woman in the 2017 movie
Wonder Woman was the first female superhero!
Bouncing Boy!
Cyborg was created in October 1980 by Mark Wolfman and George Perez. His first appearance was in DC Comics Presents #26. Victor Stone's dad never really paid attention to him and his outstanding football career. One day their was a fire that destroyed his house and most of Victor. His dad used his science skills to bring him partially back to life in a "Cyborg" form. It is hard for to cope with what he is now.
Cyborg has been on many teams, some of which are The Teen Titans, The Justice League and the S.T.A.R Labs Team!
Cyborg has been portrayed in many shows including Teen Titans, Teen Titans GO!, Smallville, and will have its own movie in 2020!
