I Have a Dream Flash'd all their sabres bare,
Flash'd as they turn'd in air
Sabring the gunners there,
Charging an army while
All the world wonder'd:
Plunged in the battery-smoke
Right thro' the line they broke;
Cossack & Russian
Reel'd from the sabre-stroke,
Shatter'd & sunder'd.
Then they rode back, but not
Not the six hundred.
Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon behind them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
While horse & hero fell,
They that had fought so well
Came thro' the jaws of Death,
Back from the mouth of Hell,
All that was left of them,
Left of six hundred.
When can their glory fade?
O the wild charge they made!
All the world wonder'd.
Honour the charge they made!
Honour the Light Brigade,
Noble six hundred! The Charge Of The Light Brigade
by Alfred, Lord Tennyson
Half a league half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred:
'Forward, the Light Brigade!
Charge for the guns' he said:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
'Forward, the Light Brigade!'
Was there a man dismay'd ?
Not tho' the soldier knew
Some one had blunder'd:
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do & die,
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
Volley'd & thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
Rode the six hundred. Read This Way I have chosen this piece because of the inspiration. This inspires courage, determination, perseverance, and indomitable spirit. These words are what I try to live by. I want to show courage. I want to be determined. I want to persevere. Most important I want to show indomitable spirit, which is the warrior spirit to never give up. Every man in those six hundred mentioned showed those four characteristics as they charged “into the valley of Death”. All of those six hundred, who died gallantly, are the ones who inspire me.
Those six hundred showed my ideal characteristics in many ways. They had shown courage as they charged into what they knew was their death. They showed determination as they fought for their country. They showed perseverance as they fought for survival. Finally, they showed indomitable spirit because they didn’t give up. That is why I chose this piece, because these six hundred were some of the bravest men in history. where I want to go... Tokyo(Edo), Japan I want to visit Tokyo because it is the technology capital of the world. I want to see the city that is ten years ahead of the rest of the world. There are so many things to do in that city. It is the New York of the Eastern Hemisphere. Manchester, England, United Kingdom I want to visit Manchester because of two words, MANCHESTER UNITED!!! Man U is my favorite soccer team in the world for all time. I want to see Old Trafford (Manchester United's stadium). I want to see Man U play a game in Old Trafford. It is simple; I want to see Man U!!! Ireland I want to visit Ireland because I want to see where paternal side of the family came from. I don’t know why but those ancestral lands are important to me, I guess it is Irish pride. When I visit I want the full experience. I don’t know what I’ll do but if you give me the keys to adventure, I’ll use them. DON'T READ TILL AFTER THE POEM Academic Excellence Social Awareness My first goal is to make sure I take notes in class. Right now I am not really taking notes and I want to improve. The reason is because what if I don’t get a textbook in one class and all I have to study from are notes. Also notes help study for midterms and finals and help get information learned in class stay in my head. My second goal is to gain the respect of more people and possibly gain new friends from this respect. In my eyes respect builds up friendship so that is why I go by gain respect first, friendship later The Campaign History is Made The Inauguration The Result I predict Obama’s election will push equality throughout our nation. After Obama is out of the office who knows, we might have an Asian-American, Hispanic-American, or Native American president. Obama is the beginning to a truly equal future. When people look back at this event I assume they will think that we had finally embraced a little equality and helped the spread of equality throughout the world. Dear Me four years ago,
I would like to inform you that this is yourself as a senior writing to you. This is a letter to warn you about some screw ups you will do. I do want to also highlight events that are good and important to you. It would be very beneficial for you to listen to yourself and do as you’re told.
First off on steroids project for health, make sure it gets done on time. If you don’t, you will get a failing grade and your overall third quarter grade will suffer. When I did this four years ago I just shut down and I felt terrible. I felt like I let our mom, Sensei Marcus, and Coach Wolf down. I’ll say this one last time, GET THE PROJECT DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For later in the year be prepared for baseball, especially with hitting. I suggest you go to the batting cages weekly. You’ll do pretty well on defense but if you don’t work on hitting you’ll strike out many times and feel like you let Coach Wheeler down.
On a brighter note you will join the Model UN club. You’ll have a great time there and gain many experiences. When you go on the trip to go to Lab MUNC please remember that your committee is in the future. Also try to bring up the issue of defense as soon as possible.
Also you’ll receive an underclassmen academic achievement award for Latin but if you only get that you’ll feel angry, disappointed, and cheated. This is why you must try hard and earn those good grades. One more thing during baseball try to go to karate more because you won’t do much strenuous exercise during practices.
Well I hope you’ll do well past me.
You know who

PRIDE OF THE YANKEES, THE 1942 "What counts is not necessarily the size of the dog in the fight – it’s the size of the fight in the dog"
General Dwight D. Eisenhower First off, I would like to conclude that being in school clubs allows you to go on fun trips. That is the basis of this entry. Yes, the trip that is implied is the one for the Model UN. We (the Model UN of Fitch) went to New York for a Model UN conference. We were assigned the country of Japan. There were many committees involved. Mine was the committee of future defense.
We had to get up early for the trip. Around four something in the morning, which was "fun". The reason for this is that the conference started early, so we needed to catch an early train. At least I was able to sleep on the train. When we had gotten to Grand Central we walked to the high school that was hosting the conference. I was surprised at the small number of schools attending the conference. Oh well, soon afterwards we had the opening ceremonies and we were shown to the classrooms holding our committees.
After all the delegates said their perspective, we debated. Might I say we debated on things other than defense. We talked about America paying off debts to China, food and water crisis, setting up water purification plants, and worldwide contraception. At that point, I was thinking what the heck isn’t this committee supposed to be about defense. Whenever I tried to bring up the subject it was shot down.
In the end the subject was never debated, but no big loss. After all the committees were done we had a small awards ceremony. Though one of our Model UN’s members got a honorable mention we didn’t get the top prize.
What I learned is that the ambassadors at the United Nations must work very hard to deal with the craziness. Also I learned that sometimes even persistence doesn’t pay off. I would very much like to do this again and I hope to, so good day to the world. Now, I am finishing up my ninth grade year at Fitch. I think I am a very nice person; I am intelligent, athletic, weird, and wacky. In the future, I hope to either attend the Air Force academy or the University of Michigan. In later life, I hope to be a paleontologist and/or a major in the Air Force. As soon as school is finished for the year, I am going to Colorado Springs, CO to visit the Air Force Academy. 10th grade- As a Sophomore, I am taking Honors US History, Civics, Sophomore PE, Honors Geometry, Honors Pre-Calc, Honors English 10, Digital Photography, Latin 2, and Intro to 3-D. This year I will be preparing to take IB History and IB Science. Also this year I will try out for the soccer, basketball, and baseball teams. I also would like to take part of the Model UN again.
11th grade- As a Junior, I hope to be taking IB HOTA (History of the Americas) course and one of the IB Science courses. Once again I’ll try out for the soccer, basketball, and baseball teams and take part in the Model UN. Other courses I most likely will take are AP English 11, Latin 3, and Weight Training. By the end of the year I will be getting ready to apply to some colleges that I want to attend.
12th grade- As a Senior, I will load up on electives and take the AP English for twelfth graders. For the last time I’ll try out for soccer, basketball, and baseball and take part in Model UN. By the winter, my goal is to have received a Congressional appointment to the Air Force Academy and have applied to the University of Michigan and other schools. I want to graduate with high honors and be ranked in the top twenty in my class. After high school graduation, I plan to go to college and pursue a career in the Air Force. Hopefully while I am at school I don’t have to be shipped out anywhere. During my college years I want to play rugby. I want to major in geology and minor in business. After college I will want to either go get my doctorate in paleontology or continue with the Air Force. In the future, I want to move to Kalamazoo, MI, get married, and have a family. I would prefer a boy and a girl but whatever I get I’ll be happy with. Also I want to get a dog or two. These will be golden retrievers. I will spend a lot of time with the kids and take them to sporting events, play with them, and make their lives happy. I will push them to be amazing student athletes and help them to learn how to be good people. I will want to show them karate, and if they want to do it I’ll let them. Hopefully they’ll stick with it like I have, but if they don’t I won’t judge. present rest of high school post high school early adult years Family Tree Colleen Thomasco

2. Doing very well on midterms- this is an achievement because it shows I have learned the material that was taught in class.
3. I did well in soccer and baseball- this is an achievement because it shows that I can excel at school and sports.
4. Earning the respect of fellow classmates- this is an achievement because I feel respect is on the path to friendship.
5. Earning an underclassmen academic achievement award- this is an achievement because it shows that I have worked hard. What I've Learned 5 Regrets 1. Not scoring a goal in soccer- this is a regret because I had so many chances and I didn’t take advantage of them.
2. Missing a soccer game- this is a regret because I felt like I let my coach and team down.
3. Not taking many notes- this is a regret because I know I need to get in the habit of taking notes to do well and I haven’t.
4. Failing a major health project- this is a regret not only because it really affected my grade, I let my teacher (who was the varsity soccer and a varsity baseball coach) down, as well as my parents.
5. Not doing that well on hitting in baseball- this is a regret because I never took the opportunity to improve. 1. Midterms are easy- I’ve learned that people make midterms sound harder than they really are.
2. I need to take notes- I’ve learned that I need to take more notes to get ready for college.
3. I am able to cope with my classes’ assignments- self explanatory
4. I need to work hard to succeed- I’ve learned that I can’t just relax, I need to work.
5. Sports in high school are serious- I’ve learned that sports in high school are taken VERY seriously. I learned it requires complete dedication to the team. Before I was at Fitch 4th grade:

school record (discus)
graduation My overall educational experience before Fitch was good. Of course I had a little trouble here and there, but they only hindered the experience a little. My proudest moment during this time was receiving the Presidential Award for academics. (Andy) By this time next year I want to get four points higher on my grades. This can only be achieved by hard work. I will work hard and strive for the goal. To improve the "Achieve More, Care More" enviorment at Fitch I will show more respect towards people and help them achieve more. Personal Wellness To maintain and increase a positive state of mind I will remain optimistic about the future. I will always keep my cool and live freely. To maintain and increase my physical well being I will continue to work hard at karate and any sport I participate in here at Fitch. I will make sure my body is well and keep it well for future struggles that are sure to come.
