Sal tried to remember where the bus top was, but couldn't remember so she turned around and Phoebe wasn't behind her. So she ran to the hospital where Ben was and met his mother then they kissed in the right place. And they both thought it tasted like blackberry.

The girl was malingering because she didn't want to go to work.

The story is from Sal's point of view. I know this because she tells the story about Pheobe in her perspective. She also states herself as "I" all the time.

The theme is don't judge people until you have walked to moons in their moccasins. That means that don't ever judge people until you know what they are going through. For example you shouldn't judge Sal because she had to go through a death in her family. You also can't judge Phoebe because that is how her parents taught her to be.
