If the employee believes that ethics and compliance issues are not being resolved, either through the existing managerial chain of command or other reporting options.
If the employee doesn't feel comfortable reporting through normal channels.
If the employee would like confidential assistance on ethics and compliance issues.
If the employee wishes to remain anonymous when filing a report. Internal Controls Ethics & Workplace Survey Deloitte uses these surveys as a way to strengthen trust between employees and employers.
In their 2010 study, Deloitte learned that a lack of trust and transparency in a company will cause employees to seek other employment.
They also found that employees are more likely to act ethically when the company shows support of their personal needs outside of work “Professionalism and You: A Commitment to Independence” This program is meant to educate new employees on the independence issues they may face and what they need to do to comply with independence requirements.
Business Resource Groups BRG's provide a forum for professionals with similar interests and/or experiences to network with colleagues, grow through professional development opportunities, participate in recruiting activities, and build relationships with local communities.
They foster higher ethical behavior from employees because their career-life needs are being met by the company. BRG's Ability First (Ability BRG)
