I was a Hungarian American illusionist and stunt performer. I was able to escape from straitjackets underwater, escape from chains, and hold my breath inside a sealed milkcan. Also i was buried alive and escaped by clawing to surface.
I was born as Erik Weisz in Budapest, Hungary on March 24, 1874. My parents were Mayer Samuel Weisz and Ceilllia Weisz. I grew up with six brothers and one sister.
Date and place of birth
I was born on March 24, 1874. I was born in Budapest, Hungary. I often said i was born in Appleton, Wisconsin because, that is where I was raised.
My moms name was Ceillia Weisz and my father name was Mayer Samuel Weisz. My siblings are Theodore Hardeen, Herman M, Leopold D, Carrie Gladys, Nathan D, and Goftfried Willam.

I changed my name from Erik Weisz to Harry Houdini. I left my family to pursue my magic career. I gained fame from being able to escape from handcuffs and caskets.
Conttributions in life
I gave lots and lots of money to charity. I donated a lot of my magic books and old things to orphanages.
