Current measures of food wastage in SG
Food waste management
Not only Japan, in the United states, campaign was set up to reduce food wastage. World Environment Day is celebrated every year on June 5 to raise global awareness to take positive environmental action to protect nature and the planet Earth. It is run by the United Nation Environment Programmes ( UNEP)
Food waste management in Japan
Food Recycling Law was enacted in 2001 and revised in 2007 in order to promote the reutilization of food resources. It encourages food-related businesses to reduce the generation of food waste during production in order to implement recycling methods (e.g. animal feed, fertilizer, methane), and to promote heat recovery and weight reduction (i.e. dehydration).
What are the causes of food wastage in Singapore?
They are :
-lack of awareness
-inefficiencies of stock management
-inadequate packaging and storage
Solutions to the causes of unnecessary wastage
In conclusion....
Comparing the statics report of the 2 countries, it is unable to work in Singapore itself due to the lack of manpower and space. People have to start doing actions to show that they care for this Earth rather than just using their mouths to talk but nothing was done. We have decided to start an activity and it will be mentioned on the presentation itself.

NEA ( National Environment Agency) plans to do nothing except to monitor the results as food outlets are uncertain of forthcoming in divulging how much food waste they generate but students decided to conduct a study on household waste.
