What isThanksgiving

Thanksgiving in America
Americans celebrate Thanksgiving by feasting with a buffet of food as the Pilgrams did. They some times have turkey, stuffin, corn, bread of some kind, pumkin pie, cakes, cranberries and seafood. On this day American families also give thanks for the past years blessings and some times attend of watch a parade.
In 1620's, the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Indians shared an autumn harvest feast that is acknowledged today as Thanksgiving. In 1863, during the Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln decided a national Thanksgiving Day to be held each November.
Thankgiving in Canada
In Canada they celebrate Thamksgiving in October on the third Monday, and during that whole week the feast is available. Foods served at a Canadian Thanksgivingare roasted turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, sweet corn, fall vegetables (squash or brusseld sprouts), and pumpkin pie are just a few items. Baked ham and apple pie are served also because they are regional dishes such as salmon or wild game.
Thanksgivig in Mexico
They decorate their houses to reflect the harvest season during Thanksgiving. Mexicans set a Mexican Thanksgiving feast on a long dinner table. All the guests say 'Grace' before they begin the feast. For the Mexicans, Thanksgiving is more about spending quality time with family and friends.
Foods served are Mexican chorizo pumpkin soup, candied pumpkin, fruit and nut bread pudding, 'camote', mango salsa, Chile- cranberry salsa, pork, chicken and turkey dishes such as turkey tacos and turkey enchiladas. usually pork is provided instead of the traditional turkey.

CONCLUSION
Thanksgiving is a dayof thanks. Families all over should acknowledge the fact that we have food, family and shelter. But most of all ou lives. It is a day we celebrate each other and acknowldge the ones that sacrifice the most. No matter where you live in the world there should be a daily Thanksgiving if not a day were it is acknolwdeged.
In September 1620, a small ship called the Mayflower left Plymouth, England, carrying 102 passengers seeking a new home where they could freely practice their faith and some others were persuaded by the promise of prosperity and land ownership in the New World.Traveling 66 days, they dropped anchor near the tip of Cape Cod, far north of their intended destination at the mouth of the Hudson River. And then one month later, the Mayflower reached Massachusetts Bay, where the Pilgrims, as they are now known as, began the work of establishing a village at Plymouth.
