"able to be molded"
This affects to different aspects...
- The meaning of "plastic" and its description
- Types of plastics
- Manufacturing process
- Properties of plastics
- Recycling codes
Usually plastics take a year to degrade in the oceans, but not entirely, Pieces of polystyrene and nurdles are the most common types of plastic pollution in the oceans, and together with plastic bags
In 2012, an estimated which had about 165 million tons of trash in océanos.
They come from oil, and they are normally organic polymers of high molecular mass. Most of them are synthetic but many are partially.
What are plastics?
You can say:
It's made up of several monomers
When biodegradable plastics decompose methane is released, which is a powerful greenhouse gas that contributes significantly to global warming
They are waterproof
Pollution by plastic can poison animals, which may negatively affect the food supply of humans.
They are malleable
Over 260 species have ingested plastic or have become entangled in plastic elements. It has been estimated that over 400,000 marine mammals die each year because of pollution by plastic in the oceans.
They are resistant to heat
They are good electricity insulators
ID reciclyng codes
They are light
Resistance to corrosion
Rigid and flexible plastic items of various polymer types and colors that are typically found in the household waste bin. It excludes plastic bottles and non-packaging items.
They are made from plant materials, such as vegetable fats or starches. Because starch is composed of polymers like oil, the base of conventional plastic, it serves as a substitute.
They can be...
- Thermo (softening) plastics:
After applying heat they can be molded many times
- Thermoset (ting) plastics:
They can't be heated twice
plastics can be...
