Transcript of Haiti Earthquake

The Haiti earthquake happend around 4:53 p.m. January 12, 2010 The centre of the earthquake was about 16 miles away form the capital - Port-au-Prince. The magnitude of the earthquake was measured at 7 richter scale. The population of Haiti was about 9 million only and about 40% of the population was under 14 years of age. A large number of buildings collapsed including the President's Palce. The National Assembly building also collapsed. The earthquake traveled about 10 miles southwest from the capital. It has been the most powerful to hit in 200 years.
