Search and rescue robots are designed to unearth rubble, or bring people to a safe point after natural disasters such as Tsunamis, Earth Quakes, or Floods. However it can also be used in man made disasters such as terrorist attacks. This type of robot mimics many human functions such as walking, lifting, and smashing
Where is the robot used? What is its work envelope (how many degrees of freedom or flexible joints does it have)?
Is the robotic end effector multi-functional? if so, what other tasks can it perform?
How is the robot taught to perform its task?
What sensors does the robot have and how does the robot use these sensors?
Name some advantages and disadvantages of using a robot to perform this task.
Some advantages and disadvantages of using a robot to perform this task is that the robot might be able to save lives, or just assist people while saving lives or looking for someone. Some disadvantages of using a robot to perform this task is thatit costs a lot of money, and it might break while performing the task.
This robot could save many more lives during natural disasters, along with humans the death total could be lowered significantly.
Rescue-Bots
What task does the robot perform? What human function or task does this robot simulate?
The robot is used in urban searches and wide area search and rescue. It is also used after natural/ man made disasters to search for and rescue people after such events. Different types of rescue bots have different numbers of joints. For example, some rescue bots fly similar to drones to locate people and send in teams to retrieve them.
Yes, this robot can also be used in activities such as breaking down materials, creating open spaces, and putting out fires.
This type of robot is mostly controlled by humans, so most of them are not programmed to act out a certain task.
It either gets its commands while it is performing the task, or it is programmed before time. Because this rot is controlled by humans it usually has no sensors other than a camera.

What type of jobs/careers can this robot create to provide employment to people
This robot can provide manufacturing jobs for the people who make them. It could also provide engineers jobs as they try to find ways to make them more efficient. Repair jobs could be provided for people who need the robots fixed
Predict and explain how this robot may be altered to perform more or different tasks in the future
This robot can evolve in various ways to perform medical operations even when they are engaged to especially perform a rescue task. It can also be modified to save animals during disasters.
