Action of Conc.Sulphuric:
-On cold: No action
-On Hot: Darkening
Action of ferric chloride:
Violet color
1- Esterification (with methanol): Odour of oil of wintergreen.
3- Azodye test: Orange red colour.

+ 7ml acetic anhydride
+ 1ml Conc.H2SO4
Dry Stoppered flask
Shaking
Step2:
Attach condenser
W.B
30 min
Shake every 3 min
Step3:
Remove condenser

Cooling
(you may need to put ice cube)
