While others argue the more optimistic viewpoint of with constant research into the problem and careful drug moderation and management, we can reverse the global outcome and simply control it.
I personally bevleive that antibiotics resistance should be looked into and stratergies should be devised to combat every variable to combat any negative scenario. That with constant evolution in technolgy and therories a plan could be but in place to avoid a world wide pandemic.
Antibiotcs resistence is something the human race cannot avoid, and is slowly becoming a greater problem. It might not be considered urgent currently but has the potential to affect the human race.

An antibiotic can be defined as a type of substance the can be derived from other organisms. Depending on the intended use of the antibiotic used it can affect the growth, eliminate and or inhibit other microorganisms like bacteria.
The human immune system can usually cope on its own and combat against these harmful organisms, through white blood cells.
So I ask you.
Bacterium resistance has the ability to be passed from bacteria to bacteria, but also pass from person to person.
Meaning that a single person that builds up a resistance, can potentially pass it onto another person, then to another and continue to eventually affect the whole community. With the plausible outcome of affecting most everyone worldwide.
How can you resist?
Now this isn't a problem that is squarely based in Australia, in fact this is an issue the world has to face. Worldwide resistance is occurring as we speak, it could be happening to anyone on of you right now, but Australia is contributing.
Australia is one of the highest users of antibiotics in the world. an Estimated 22 doses of antibiotic pare prescribed per 100 people every day. The risk of resistance occurring is when these prescribed full course of the antibiotics are not finished, often not fully ridding the host of the harmful bacteria and a rise of resistance to occur and be hard to treat later on.
Not easy being Green
Roughly 20% of Antibiotics are broken down when ingested, and pass through the body intact and eventually enter the environment via waste products. The 80% that enters the environment, still has the ability to affect bacteria, and encourage antibiotic resistance
Some experts predict that the resistance to antibiotics will continue to increase pace, until we reach a time where antibiotic are totally useless. With only those with natural resistance built up, through DNA, will survive.
So what's the Problem?
When using antibiotics resistance is an inevitable consequence, the more a person uses them the more resistance your immune system and bacteria will build. These harmful bacteria will build up a resistance to the consumed antibiotic, and in time will be more difficult to treat.
When these antibiotics cease to work, it can cause many problems for your health. Leading to regular and prolonged stay at the hospital, and to replace the more cheap antibiotic, more expensive cures will be needed.
