It is named Texas.
The Impact on Native Americans.
It was once its own nation for 10 years.
The Native Americans opposed westward expansion. They were forced to relocate to land reservations. This group of Native Americans were the Comanches.

The Texas Annexation
Until December 29, 1845, Texas was a part of Mexico. Mexico started allowing Americans into Texas because they would help boost the economy. They also allowed Americans into Texas because they wanted a bigger population, so if there were any attackers, they would be more likely to win.
History Headlines
Texas is located in the south west.
After Texas won the Mexican war, it was annexed into the United States of America as the 28th state.
Texas entered the union with a treaty.
After Texas won the war, it wasn't annexed for 10 years. During this time, it was its own republic.
