Brainstorming Vocabulary Present a theme or topic and ask students to contribute words that they associate with the theme. i.e. Sports (Spanish) could include action verbs, equipment, spectators, referees, etc. Play a short clip, commercial or short film. Have the students complete different tasks while watching and/ or answer various prompts that you give them. Verb Drills Using dice write 1-6 verbs on the board. Write the corresponding subject pronouns for #s on the dice. #1-yo/#2-tú/ #3-él, etc.
Next roll the dice and say the two numbers that correspond to the pronoun and the verb. Ex. Verb #1 is ser. I roll the dice and get a #1 and #2. The answer would be "eres". Storytelling/Writing Prompts Have the class collaborate on a group
story in the backchannel. Practice past tense: Es war einmal ein...(Once upon a time there was a...)
