The Doors were an American Rock band formed on 1965 in Los Angeles California. The band started when Jim Morrison and Ray Manzarek met on Venice Beach California in July 1965.Morrison told Manzarek he had been writing songs. Morrison,after Manzareks encouragement sang "Moonlight Drive". Then Manzarek decided that they should form a band. Jim Morrison-vocalist;
Ray Manzarek-keyboardist; John Densmore-Drummer

Forming the Band. During their Career The Doors sold over 32.5 million albums in the U.S alone. They sold 75 million albums worldwide. The type of Rock that they played was Rock and Roll, psychedelic rock, acid rock,blues rock, and hard rock.
In 1993 they were inducted into the rock 'n' roll hall of fame. In 1998 "Light My Fire" was inducted into the Grammy hall of fame under the category of rock. Two of their best known songs were "Light My Fire" and "Moonlight Drive".But "Light My Fire" was their top hit of all time.
Their first tour was on December 11 in Dallas,Texas. How Did The Doors Career End The Doors career ended in 1973 but their popularity has persisted. Their last public performance was on December 12,1970 in the WareHouse in New Orleans.
