Transcript of Lascaux Cave Art

http://www.lascaux.culture.fr/index.php?lng=en#/fr/00.xml Did You Know?? The caves were discovered by 4 boys and their dog. Most art historians believe the caves to be a sacred space and not actually living quarters. The cavemen actually lived in villages close by. The artists used animal hides, feathers, and their own hands to create the paintings. To illuminate, or light up, the cave they burned animal fat in lamps. There are several main chambers to the cave but most notably are the "Hall of the Bulls" and the "Chamber of the Cats."
