Shakespeare The Life of Shakespear Shakespeare married on November 28th 1582 to a young women by the name of Anne Hathaway. William was born in 1564 the actual date of his birth is unknown but he was baptized on April 26th 1564 so it is presumed that he was born three days prior to that date. Early LIfe Family William was the third child of John and Mary Shakespeare. He had a total of seven siblings however only four of the seven made it to adulthood. Little is known of Mary Shakespeare other than she was the youngest of her family and inherited wealth and a great amount of land with the passing of her father. John Shakespeare was known to be a prominent business man and a very important member of the Stratford Town Council. It is said William inherited his father's striking personality and enthusiastic business instincts. Children William and Anne had only three children however their only son died at age eleven leaving them with only two daughters. Two kids was a rather low number of children for the time period.
