President wilson wanted to remain at peace he wanted to maintain a neutral position. He later joined the war becasuse the Lusitiania was destroyed.
a u-boat is a german made submarine. UNrestricted submarine warfare was when germans realized they didn't need to capture merchant ships they would just sink it. it was a type of naval warfare in submarines sink vessels such as freighters and tankers with no warning.
the amount of goods and loans that the u.s provided the allied and central powers wasn't equal, it was favored one side which was the allies. the value of the exports from the u.s to the allies and was $824.8million in 1914 and in 1916 it was $3,200.0 million to the u.s allies.
