Transcript of One Direction
Turn back the clock to July 2010 and auditions for the England’s X Factor were underway. Five young boys from various parts of the England and Ireland had entered the competition with nothing else but a passion for singing and raw talent. Their names were Niall (from Westmeath, Ireland), Zayn (from Bradford), Liam (from Wolverhampton), Harry (from Cheshire) and Louis (from Doncaster) and they had all entered as solo artists. Arriving to their individual auditions, they were given the task of impressing the judges. And they did. But just not quite how they imagined.
It was during the Bootcamp round of the competition that Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh had to give the boys the bad news that they hadn’t made it through as solo artists. They were devastated, but they were offered a suggestion. The judges wanted them to form a group; to learn to sing as a five-piece rather than individuals. The boys jumped at the chance and One Direction was born. Harry Styles was born in Cheshire, England on February 2, 1994. His parents got divorced when he was four years old. Although he didn't think much about it because he was so young. Before trying out for the X Factor UK, he worked in a bakery on Saturday and went to college Monday through Friday. He was also the lead singer of his band named White Eskimo. White Eskimo entered Battle of the Bands, and, of course, won. Performing in Battle of the Bands had Harry full of energy and he knew that all he wanted to do was perform. Harry was the one who came up with the name One Direction, and Zayn, Liam, Niall, and Louis are his best friends. Harry Styles Niall was born on September 13th, 1993, in Westmeath Mullingar, Ireland. He has only one brother, Greg Horan. His parents got divorced when he was five. He started playing the guitar when he was about twelve, one year later he entered the school's talent show, singing The Script's 'The Man Who Can't Be Moved'.He also entered a small local competition, where he sang Chris Brown's 'With You', this time he won the show. In 2009, Niall supported Lloyd Daniels in a small music venue. All those things made him realize he wanted to sing. In 2010, Niall entered the X Factor. He sang 'I'm Yours' and 'So Sick' on his audition, and got trough to the next round. And from there it was only up! Niall Horan Zayn Malik Zayn was born on January 12, 1993 in Bradford, England. He grew up in East Bowling, and was a student at Lower Fields Primary School and went to Tong High School, a state comprehensive school. Zayn did not fit in at his first two schools due to his mixed heritage, so when he and his older sister moved schools he felt he fitted in better. Liam was born on August 29, 1993 in West Midlands, England. He has two sisters, Necola and Ruth. He was born with only one working kidney, after going back to England after the United States tour, he found out his other kidney started working again. He always loved watching Toy Story since he first watched them. His audition song “Cry Me a River” received a standing ovation from the audience and Simon. Liam Payne Louis was born on December 24, 1991 in Doncaster, England. He has four younger sisters, named Charlotte "Lottie," Felicite "Fizzy," and twin sisters Daisy and Phoebe. The only instrument Louis plays is the piano. Louis' audition song was 'Hey There Delilah' By The Plain White T's, making it through the audition round. He is definitely not the serious one, he likes playing jokes and just having fun. Louis Tomlinson The genre is biography.
Related Texts: Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, and Niall Horan. Characters: Theme: The book is about the five boys of One Direction,
their daily struggle, and how they put their dreams
to action. They are a team, and they have worked
hard to reach where they are. They are not so serious
all the time, they are always pulling pranks on each
other and they hang out and party, and yea, they even
drink. Concept: My thoughts of the book are, first, I thought the book was really well written. Second, I really enjoyed reading it because they really aren't who you think they are. Most of all, I think they live up to what they believe in, and take all the criticism that people give them, but they really love their fans and do everything to make them happy.
