The Hebrew University of Jerusalem developed software to automate their libraries. The software was called Automated Library Expandable Program or ALEPH-100

The university spun off a commercial company called Aleph Yissum.

While Aleph Yissum continued to focus on software development, a new privately owned company was created called ExLibris to market Aleph outside of Israel.

Aleph Yissum and Ex Libris merge.

ExLibris enters the US Market

A US based private equity firm has purchased 100% of the ExLibris group
