Catching Ted Bundy
Bundy was responsible for an estimated of 30-plus crimes before he was arrested in 1975. However, there was very little physical evidence to connect him to the crimes. It wasn't until after Bundy escaped prison and killed three more people, that physical evidence was obtained which then led to his conviction.

When Bundy escaped and fled to Florida, he killed Lisa Levy, Margaret Bowman, and 12 year old Kimberly Leach. Unfortunately for Bundy, he left a very distinctive bite mark of Lisa Levy's buttocks (which is an individual characterisitc). Using scientific method and crime scene reconstruction, forensics were able to match the bite mark on the victim to Bundy's crooked teeth. "10 Famous Criminal Cases Cracked by Forensics"

According the Locard's Exchange Principle, "Whenever 2 objects come into contact with eachother, a transfer of material will occur. Therefore, evidence can be used to associate people, places, and objects." (Durham, slide 3) Well in the case of 12 year old, Kimberly Leach, fibers from her clothing were also found in Ted Bundy's car leading to his conviction and death sentence.
