land will be completely filled by 2015
Measures to facilitate waste recycling are needed
Household waste recovery rate is only 20% while many european countries have recovery rate more than 35%
Method of Investigation All materials in this presnetation are derived from secondary sources on the internet.
Implementation of SRB is a feasible and practical solution for directly facilitating waste recycling
Raise awareness of the public in HK towards environment protection

Unwanted rubbishes are always collected because of a lack of a monitoring system

a system using radio waves to transmit the identity in the form of a unique serial number of an object or person wirelessly
Mainly three components:
A tag (electronically programmed with unique information)
An antenna
A computer and the corresponding software
Principle of RFID The antenna emits radio signals to activate the tag and to read and write data to it
When an RFID tag passes through, it detects the reader's activation signal
The reader decodes the data in the tag's
The data is passed to the host computer for processing
Product Operation  The information (category, refunding value) of the material is first saved into the RFID tag.

This process is repeated for the remaining material and the program will automatically add up the sum of the refunding value and display it on the screen.
After finishing the process, the total amount of the refund is transferred to the users’ octopus through the octopus card sensor.
Once the tag pass through the RFID antenna in the SRB, the information will then be read by the sensor.

The data will then pass to the processor, and the refunding value is displayed on the screen. Implementation Plan Collaborating companies In order to make SRB into reality, a series of company collaboration must be introduced.
Collaborating Companies In order to well promote the use of the SRB, a number of locations are considered.

Too thin and technically too difficult to stick the RFID tag on
Relatively high cost comparing to the traditional recycling bin
