Walt Disney was born on December 5th 1901 to Elias Disney & Flora Call Disney, His parents fully named him Walter Elias Disney. He was 1 of 5 children, 4 boys & 1 girl. After Walt was born the family moved to Marceline Missouri & Walt lived most of his childhood there. Walt was very interested in art at an early age, Because of this passion, Later in his life he created the multiplane camera in 1937. He pursued his art career and studied art and photograpy by going to the McKinley High School in Chicago. One of Walt's famously know characters is Mickey Mouse. Although, while "Mickey" was created in 1928, He was re-named Mortimer by Lillian Bounds (Walt's wife). after chauffeuring Red Cross officials in an ambulance for a year, Once Walt returned from France he started a small company called Laugh-O-Grams. Which eventually went bankrupt. With his suitcase at hand and $20 dollars in his pocket, he headed to Holllywood to start a new life. After making a success of his "Alice Comedies", Walt became a well-known Hollywood figure. Walt married one of his 1st employees, Lillian Bounds, in Lewiston, Idaho. Later Walt and Lillian had 2 daughters named Diane and Sharon. In 1932 the production named "Flowers and Trees" (the 1st color cartoon) won Walt his 1st, of 64 studio Academy Awards. On December 21st 1937, Snow White and &the seven Dwarfs premiered at the Carthay Theater in Los Angeles. The film produced at the unheard cost of $1,499,000. During the next 5 years, Walt Disney Studios completed other classics like Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo, and Bambi. Walt also had other dreams he wanted to folllow, like creating an amusement park, and finally, Walt Disney's dream of a clean & organized amusement park finally came true. Besides the first park walt opened in california in 1955, disney themed parks are located all across the world like in florida, tokyo, france, and hong kong. Walt also became a television pioneer, He began television production in 1954, And was among the 1st to present full-color programming with his Wonderful World of Color in 1961. Walt Disney unfortunatley died on December 15th of 1966 from lung cancer. Because of his death, his brother, Roy, took over the amusement park. Walt Disney was truly a great man and died before he got to see his finished work of his amusement parks across the nation. Walt Disney will always be remembered. Because Walt was so interested with sketches and doodles, he began making short animated films for local businesses and soon developed his own company called "Laugh-O-Grams", which unfortuanately went bankrupt. Instead of giving up Walt packed up his unfinished sketches and headed for Hollywood. Walt married one of his 1st employees at Laugh-O-Grams, Lillian Bounds and later had 2 children with her, Diane & Sharon. Lillian also helped Walt create the name "Mickey" after he named one of his now famous cartoon characters "Mortimer". Disney began televison production in 1954 and was among the 1st to present full-color programming with his '"Wonderful world of Color" in 1961. Walt also had other interests, Like creating an amusement park, and in 1955, Walt opened his 1st amusement park in California.
