Cinder Cone Volcano

How Are They Made?
Some can be made from Strombolian eruptions. They are short, quick, and explosive and are constant in a time period.
They can also be made from flank eruptions in shield & strato volcanoes, appearing as parasitic vones.
Eruptions that make cone-shaped hills create them, too.

Effects that a cinder-cone volcano has on the environment are that plants can be smothered in dust and will die because they cannot get sunlight and it can cause animals skin and eye irritation because of the ash.
The effects it has on humans are that the ash can close down roads, destroy people's homes, and sometimes if you don't evacuate quickly, it can kill you.
The Significant One
The most famous cinder cone volcano was one named "Paricutin". It was in Mexico in1943 and continued erupting for years, building its height to 424 meters by producing lava that covered 15 kilometers. The effects this volcano had on people in its vicinity were that its ash buried people and houses. No one really knows what made it erupt. People believed it was the 300 earthquakes that shook the earth a day before this happened.

A 1999 eruption from the volcano "Cerro Negro" on August 5 took it's vicinity for two days. It started from a series of strong earthquakes that were felt 40 km away, producing an ash column 7 km tall. No one got hurt. It was caused by 3 major earthquakes in 3 hours.
An explosive 1995 eruption by the same volcano started on the 28th of May and was caused by violent tremors for 4 days before. It caused damage to property and farmland, depositing 2 millimeters a day in León (~20 km). It had 2 phases. The first one average 100-160 small eruptions per day, for 79 days. The second phase consisted of stronger explosions lasting for 13 days. Of the 6000 people that evacuated, there were no fatalities.
This cinder cone volcano called Mount Lassen happened on May 19th in 1915 in Lassen National Volcanic Park. The effects it had on people was it left a lot of ash and debris. A lava dome actually caused this volcano to erupt by the cinder cone volcano was forming until a lava dome was pushing its way under the volcano also forming. Because of this the volcano didn't stop erupting until 1922.
