Sea Turtles
Sea turtle's eggs are hatched on the beach.
Sea Turtles can live up to 100 years old.
Sea turtles come in many shapes and sizes
The largest species of the sea turtles is the leatherback sea turtle.
Sea turtles can dive 1,000 feet under the water.
They are cold blooded so they are reptiles.
Snapping Turtles
Snapping turtles will bite you if you are too close.
Snapping turtles are fresh water reptiles.
The snapping turtle can grow up to 20 inches.
Its weight on average is 25 to 30 pounds.
The largest snapping turtle is the alligator snapper. It can weigh over 200 pounds!
The habitat of a turtle is rivers, streams,ponds, lakes and swamps.
The snapping turtle is very shy in the water but on land they are agressive and fierce.
Pig-Nosed Turtle facts
Pig nosed turtles can grow up to 70 cm.
They can weigh up to 22.5 kg.
Pig nosed turtles are a soft shelled type of turtle.
Their feet are flippers.
Pig nosed turtles are well adapted to the aquatic lifestyle
Female pig nosed turtles lay 7 to 39 eggs.
They usually lay their eggs late in the dry season.
They are called pig nosed because of their "snout".
Pig nosed turtles are omnivorous because they eat plants such as fig leaves and they eat meat such as crustateans.
