Altering for Two
"Implement a Paleo diet without dramatically decreasing the amount of carbohydrates compared to what you were eating before" TPV, episode 4. If not, you could dramatically decrease your milk supply by shocking your system.

Keep carb intake up by: good fat sources, starchy vegetables, and fruit.

SLOWLY: months (not days) if you have not previously eaten a Paleo diet. Weight loss will come!

Medela SoftShells Breast Shells For Sore Nipples on Amazon. This is worn during the day that stretches the nipple to the correct form, etc., then taken off for breastfeeding.
Green Pasture's Blue Ice Royal Butter Oil / Fermented Cod Liver Oil Blend - CINNAMON GEL - 8.1 fl.oz (240ml) from Amazon.com. Great supplement to get the correct amount of Vitamin D & A, and Omega-3 and -6.
Wild Planet Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon, Skinless & Boneless, 6 Ounce Can (Pack of 4) from Amazon.com. Great source of fish; you should be getting 3 to 5 servings of fish per week. This is a great way to get this in.
Paleo Lactation Cookies (help to increase milk supply)
From PaleoParents.com:
Here are the differences that our family have witnessed between BOTH of our older children (who were entirely breastfed, but not Paleo) and Wesley:
Wesley began sleeping through the night 4-6 hour stretches at mere weeks old
Wesley never had gas
Wesley never spit up
Wesley never had diaper rash
Wesley never had facial rashes after messy meals (sensitive skin was common with our older boys in general)
Their pallet was molded by the flavors in my breast milk. Curries, steaks, eggs, bacon, spinach, avocado and mussels are foods they like eating now because 1) it’s what they’ve always eaten and 2) it provides the opportunity to learn to eat on demand.
What is "Paleo?"
"The Paleo diet is the healthiest way you can eat because it is the ONLY nutritional approach that works with your genetics to help you stay lean, strong and energetic!" -RobbWolf.com
Lean Proteins
Lean proteins support strong muscles, healthy bones and optimal immune function. Protein also makes you feel satisfied between meals.
Healthy fats

-from nuts, seeds, avocados, olive oil, fish oil and grass-fed meat
Fruits and Vegetables
Fruits and vegetables are rich in antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients that have been shown to decrease the likelihood of developing a number of degenerative diseases including cancer, diabetes and neurological decline.

Building a Paleo Diet
Wild meat is remarkably lean, and has relatively low amounts of saturated fats, while supplying significant amounts of beneficial omega-3 fats such as EPA and DHA.
From The Paleo View, Episode 4
Serves 2 funcions: Help baby grow & immunologically beneficial
Composition A: Carbohydrates, Fats, & Proteins
Simple & easy to digest
Composition B: Hormones, Enzymes, Probiotics, Antibodies (whatever the mother is making at that time), white blood cells, vitamins, & minerals
Majority of what is available in breast milk is NOT available in formula
If Mother's diet does not contain enough nutrients, then Baby will take those from Mother's body; the body prioritizes Baby over Mother
Always eat when you are hungry. Just choose nutrient-dense foods. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

"Children of Paleo parents are lucky [...] - they can enjoy all the benefits of real, whole foods without enduring years of painful trial and error to get there"
Liquid Foods
Solid Foods
The first year: Baby's Paleo benefits should primarily come from Mother's breastmilk.
This boosts the immune system, provides all the macro- and micro- nutrients, and transfers healthy bacteria, which supports healthy digestion for later years.
Babies often need to switch to solid foods sooner than our hunter-gatherer ancestors (whom breast fed for several years); however, most store-bought formulas are a far cry from Paleo: processed, containing soy and unknown chemical ingredients.
Better options:
Homemade formula
Add pureed liver or fresh egg yolks to standard formula (this still has problematic elements, but a least it has some extra vital nutrients.
Homemade Baby Formula
"Weston A. Price Homemade Formula"

The first link available gives you many options and directions for making your own healthy baby formula, much healthier and nutritious for Baby.
Starting at 6 months, until about 1 year, Baby will eventually be ready for foods other than breastmilk.
Standard advice: "Start your baby with rice, oatmeal, or barley cereal thinned with breastmilk or formula." NOT good. Why?
Babies do not have enough amylase, the enzyme that allows humans to break down starch for digestion. Yikes.
What is good then?!
Paleo staples: Egg yolks, Bananas, and Avocados.
Start with runny foods (you can mix these with breastmilk or coconut milk at first), and slowly thicken the consistency.
Another option: puree meats. (but don't go overboard!) Baby is used to 7% of his food [breastmilk] being protein, so Baby is not well-adapted to a high protein diet.
As Baby matures, lumpier foods will be more tolerated. Eventually, Baby will be able to go from thicker purees to very soft solid food [e.g. bananas & steamed veggies].
There are many transition strategies from which to choose for switching your older children to Paleo; the general consensus: slowly, but surely.
One Food at a Time
One Meal at a Time
Cut out gluten, then processed foods, then dairy, etc.
Switch certain foods for others
Example: switch cereal for eggs or almond milk for milk
Switch to Paleo breakfasts every morning, then switch to Paleo snacks.
Making the first change breakfasts are great because:
Most people eat it at home; therefore, you will have more control over it
It takes advantage of your willpower.
If you were switching only dinners, you may come home from work that day feeling stressed and tired. Getting a delivery pizza would be much easier than insisting on a Paleo salad and roast beef.
Starting with breakfast sets you up to succeed... It may even give you enough energy to tackle a Paleo lunch!
Final Words
"Whatever strategy you choose, make sure to stay consistent. If your kids figure out that they can get their old foods back by throwing a tantrum, that’s what they’ll keep doing. For two-parent households, it’s also vital that both adults stay on the same page about what is and isn’t allowed: frustrated kids will be quick to take advantage of any inconsistency. Be gentle and encouraging, but stick to your guns. If your kids refuse to eat their dinner, it won’t hurt them to skip a meal – vegetables have a way of magically becoming less 'icky' the hungrier they are."
