Transcript of Sharks

Fun fact
All great white sharks grow up alone and have to learn how to hunt by themselves.
Body
Great White Sharks have six fins First Dorsal fin, Second
dorsal fin, caudal fin, pelvic fin, the anal fin and the pectoral fin The caudal fin is the most important fin it is what helps the shark to swim and balance. The first dorsal fin is also very important it helps so that humans can see the shark when they approach also it helps with balance. The other fins help with swimming every fin is important. Another part of the sharks body is it's gills which is what helps them to breathe.
Habitat
By Katie McManus and Sydni Otto
Great White Sharks
There are only about 3,500 Great White Sharks left in the oceans that makes them more rare than Tigers. This is an issue because sharks are a big part of the food chain and without them so species would over populate
Population
Fun Fact
Great White Sharks have been used in many movies showing how they are one of the most dangerous animals in the sea. One movie that shows how dangerous Great Whites are is JAWS.
In asian countries they hunt sharks down and cut of their fins to make shark fin soup. This causes the population of sharks to go down by a lot.

Tips To avoid Shark Attacks

1. Never swim with an open cut they can smell blood from a mile away.
2.When surfing or on a raft watch your surroundings.
3.Don't splash too much splashing attracts sharks.
4. Never ever surf or swim at dawn or late at night.

Food
Fun Fact
Great White Sharks have been around as long as dinosaurs

Most Great White Sharks eat seals, fish,
other sharks,small toothed whales,otters
and sea turtles. Their main diet is seals and
sea turtles because they are easier to catch
and there are a lot of them. Great Whites
might attack humans but they never eat
them for a meal they usually mistake them
for seals.

Great White Sharks can eat a loin seal whole and then not eat for 3 months, and they eat up to 11 tons of food in one year.
Fun Fact:
All Great White Sharks live in the ocean because
they can only breathe in salt water therefore
they cannot live in lake or rivers. The part of the
ocean they live in is called the Twilight Zone, witch
deepest parts of the ocean. Sometimes Great white sharks will go closer to shore because they are attracted
to splashing from the humans
