Black Veil Brides - Round Table Assignment
Transcript of Black Veil Brides - Round Table Assignment
Andrew Dennis Biersack was born on December 26, 1990 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin but moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. He was in the band called "Biersack", which was changed to "Black Veil Brides". Andy is the only original member of BVB. 8th grade was when Andy's first band started called "Biersack", Andy would take CDs to school and hand them out to everyone he knew. He's very hard-headed, and humorous, but he knows what he wants to do in his life, and most people don't question it. He is inspired by bands such as Kiss, and Motley Crue. the current members and what being rockstars means to them Ashley Purdy - Bass guitar, backing vocals
Ashley’s birthday is January 28, 1984 and is 28 years old. He was born in California and is well known there. He is a certified graphic designer. Ashley likes to socialize but is a little on the shy side. He is the bassist and back up singer for BVB. He is laid back and loves meeting his fans.
Ashley's favourite quote is "Normal…That’s a setting on a washing machine, and nobody wants to be that."
For Ashley, music is something that can't exactly be described with words, but with the emotions you feel when listening to it. Just as the rest of the band, Ashley believes in standing up for yourself and never letting others get you down, and his way of getting that message across, is through his music. Jeremy Miles Ferguson "Jinxx" - Rhythm guitar, violin, backing vocals
Jeremy was born January 7th, 1981 in Webster City, Iowa. Jinxx is 32 years old. He is the guitarist and violinist for BVB. Jinxx was previously in bands, The Dreaming, Amen, and The Drastics. He is a major in graphics design. He is happily enjoying his marriage with Sammi Doll. Jinxx is a pretty laid back type of guy and wishes to meet anyone willing to say hi to him and the rest of the band on his tour.
Jinxx's inspirational quote is "No matter how much you've worked so hard to be as successful as you are, there will always be those ignorant haters who don't understand."
Music is practically Jinxx's religion. He has a strong passion for rock and roll and is more than happy to relive it. In his own words, he's never believed in something as much as he believes in BVB and intends to stick with the band through thick and thin. He has a deep emotional attachment to his music, and what it stands for, even more so the people who understand it and that can relate. Jake Pitts - Lead guitar, backing vocals
Jake Pitt's interest in guitar was sparked by Metallica, his musical influence being his mom. He's been playing for 13 years, and was in his first band at age 15. He can also play the drums and bass. Some bands that he likes are: All That Remains, Bullet for my Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold, Trivium, Van Halen, The Scorpions, Paul Gilbert, and Buckethead. When asked how he ended up in BVB he said, "It was meant to happen."
His #1 quote is "If you can build it, you can unbuild it."
Jake's meaning of music is fairly simple, he merely wishes to encourage others to be themselves, and to stand for what you feel is right, even if that means standing alone, through his music, to be strong, confident and poised in any situation, to never back down. Christian Coma "CC" - Drums, percussion
Christian "CC" Coma is the most recent member of Black Veil Brides. His birthday is April 21. He's been playing drums on and off since he was 17 and started learning when he was little. He's been in many bands before BVB. Although he is the newest member he is welcomed to the band by fans, and fits right in. When asked how he got the chance to be in BVB he said, "I knew a couple of the bvb guys for a while now, I actually have played with them before. It kind of just worked out, ya know? Sucks about Sandra (former band member) leaving, but everything happens for a reason and I wish her the best." "I am very excited to be a part of this group/family. Everyone has treated me great so far, and the response from the fans has been unreal! I have 2,044 messages in my email box in a day and a half and they keep going up. I am anxious to meet everyone in person, and I hope everybody is ready for the BVB world take over!" Ahh, Jinxx...the Mystic...pretty cool, huh? n.n Ahaha, here we have Jake! He's a pretty cool dude. :D These are all the guys from BVB. From left to right - CC, Ashley, Andy, Jake & Jinxx. I can't express enough how amazing these guys are...and no, not because of their looks (though that is a bonus :D), but because of the message they're trying to spread. That, and they're just plain AWESOME!!! The meanings to their songs: When BVB was asked in an interview what their songs focus on, Ashley Purdy said, "Overall the theme is about never giving in… not letting anyone tell you what to do or take anything away from you. Always being yourself, whatever that may be. The content obviously takes a darker and romantic approach to relationships about love and loss, as well as overcoming adversity in everyday life. Generally, just being tough and standing up for what you believe." His #1 life quote is "Life isn't about how popular you are... What girl or boy you are dating or who you know. Life is about always being true to who you are or what you believe in. Never let anyone convince you that their way is better than your way. In the end all we have is our hearts... and our minds. This is the reason why we sing... this is the reason why we cry... this is why we live." To Andy, music isn't just a job or an interest, it's a way of life, a way of expressing emotions in ways otherwise unknown. Having been an outcast as a teenager, Andy (like many before him), turned to music as a way to express himself. The music that the Black Veil Bride's produce is full of depth and meaning, reaching out to the people who's cries have gone unheard. This is Andy! He's amazing, isn't he? ^.^ This is Ashley...the music world's most famous outlaw! xD CC has yet to share any quotes or words of wisdom with the fans.It would appear that CC shares similar beliefs to everyone else in the band. Everyone, no matter who you are, what you do...whether you go to school, have a desk job, work in a band or stay at home all day, you deal with things, and you get wounds. It's up to everyone, everyday to stitch them up and to show that there is beauty in life. Life isn't bad, life is what you make it, and you can find ways to make it interesting. "This record is for the outcasts.
The following are stories of love,
life, and never giving in.
We are the Black Veil Brides."
(The Outcasts (Call To Arms) All Songs Black Veil Brides 2010) So, where are they now? BVB have just recently finished producing their next album, Wretched & Divine - The Story Of The Wild Ones. They now plan to do what they love most... ...Touring around the world to meet fans and play music! So... What does this have to do with our community? My roundtable focuses on their fanbase in Australia. I created a survey to ask a range of people what they knew about Black Veil Brides and what the effect of them not coming to Australia has on their fans. Unfortunately, Australia isn’t one of the places that BVB will be visiting while touring...... ...And that the majority of their fans are very upset about their decision. :| My results show that some were aware who BVB are... The awesomest band ever! My reaction to this news ._. BVB and their impact on the world... -What's the BIG deal with BVB? BVB has a broad range of fans. There are different people from different age groups with different reasons for listening to/supporting BVB... One of the reasons as to why BVB has such a devoted fan base is because they help a wide variety of people. You'd be surprised how easy it is to find comfort in BVB's music... BVB aren't intentionally spokes people, but many look up to them that way. They sing what they know about, and those things tend to hit home with many people. WE SCREAM! WE SHOUT! WE ARE THE FALLEN ANGELS! At first, BVB weren't all that popular. It took time for people to realize who they were. But now, they've produced 4 albums, several singles (two of which have been used in movie soundtracks) and done several music videos BVB strive to encourage people to be whoever they want to be, and to not let all the negative haters keep you down. They do a pretty good job at helping people remember and understand that, too. The sad thing is, while teaching us to ignore bullies, BVB receives so much hate themselves. All because of how they dress, and act and sing. All the natural things someone would be bullied for, I suppose. But BVB never give in, they never back down. It's for reasons such as that they're appreciated so much, when the rest of us can't seem to keep going, they remind us that we're stronger than we think. <3 I AM A PROUD FALLEN ANGEL OF THE BVB ARMY! Conclusion: And so, after tallying up and reviewing the survey results, it is clear to me that BVB's decision has an obvious impact upon their fan base here in Australia, big enough that one might say to cause a riot of Fallen Angels. Ahh, Jinxx...The Mystic...pretty cool, huh? n.n Dun, dun, DUUUN! It's CC! Yeah, out of em' all, this dude is the CRAZIEST! He's awesome though, and I am jealous of his amazingness xD BIBLIOGRAPHY: http://au.myspace.com/blackveilbrides http://bvbinfo.weebly.com/band-bio-and-info.html http://blackveilbridesnet.com/ http://black-veil-brides-stalkers.webs.com/ https://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&q=black+veil+brides&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.r_qf.&bpcl=37189454&biw=1366&bih=643&ion=1&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=deyYUKzmGcyciAeljYBY
