why was it built? Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal
for his favorite wife named Mumtaz
Mahal. When she was giving birth to
their 14th child there were complications.
He wanted to remember her alaways so he
had many people come together and made a
unique, but fascinatingbuilding. How long did it take to build the
Taj Mahal? Why? What is it made
out of? Shah Jahan put together a group
with over 20,000 workers. The worker
started making it around1633 and ended
in 1655. The Taj Mahal is made out of white
marble and some red sandstone. There were
gardens and trees planted all around the Taj Mahal.The building had beautiful carvings in it, and is one of the wonders of the world. What is the Taj Mahal named after?
What is inside? The Taj Mahal is named after Shah Jahan's
wife. There is nothing inside of the Taj Mahal
except the husband and wife. It is dimly lit and
is also called a mausoleum. There are beautiful
carvings inside.
