Transcript of Human Impacts on the Lithosphere - Agriculture

AGRICULTURE Human Impacts on the Lithosphere What is Agriculture? Agriculture, also called farming or husbandry, is the cultivation of animals, plants, fungi, and other life forms for food, fiber, biofuel and other products used to sustain human life. EVENT FROM THE PAST WHAT HUMANS DID Humans can destroy the lithosphere by two ways from agriculture. One way is by farming. The second way is by destroying agriculture. Humans have destroyed agriculture over the years and this cause major erosion of the soil. Result Of What Humans Did Laws and Regulations There are regulations about the Pesticides you can use, Animal waste management, Groundwater and surface water, Tanks and containment, and Solids and hazardous waste Current Practices Current practices include farming and the destruction of agriculture

Pathway To A More Sustainable Future For The Earth The lithosphere is the home of man and thousand of other living species (both plants and animals). The lithosphere houses several kinds of minerals and rock types. It is also a supporting pillar for agricultural practices which helps to sustain life. Most of the mineral resources required by man in his quest for industrial development are obtained from the lithosphere. Clearing land which could cause excessive erosion which we have trees to fight against but since were "the people" are cutting down trees there is a higher rate for this happening. We "the humans" deplete minerals by our use for land for agriculture MOMAGRI
"Momagri is a movement for a world agricultural organization, is a think tank chaired by Pierre Pagesse. It brings together, managers from the agricultural world and important people from external perspectives, such as health, development, strategy and defense. Its objective is to promote regulation of agricultural markets by creating new evaluation tools, such as economic models and indicators that are better for the earth. And by drawing up proposals for an agricultural and international food policy." (Momagri 1) During the 1960 and 1985 the Philippines lost 55% of its forest; Thailand lost 45% of its forest between 1961 and 1985. By them destroying the forest to make farmland. Brazil lost 91.4 million acres of tropical forest between 1980-1990. Almost the total area of North and South Dakota combined. This made an affect on man today where in...... Worked Cited Farming this destroys the lithosphere by Use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers can contaminate soil and affect soil fertility. This can over a period of time can strip vital minerals out of the soil. What people can is to stop the destruction of agriculture and for farmers to not put as much pesticides in farming because it destroys the soil after. Plant more trees and try to make farms in areas already cleared by natural causes. My Definition Practicing of farming, including the cultivating of the soil for the growing of crops The Amazon there are many forests that are being cleared each day to be used as agricultural land as much as 33.8 million acres of tropical forest per year. The environment in that area are trying to decrease how many forests are being destroyed. Continued
