Tap dance is a style of dance by using the sound of someones tap shoe,tapping the floor. The "taps" are made out of metal plates that are attached to the heel and the toe. The modern ones have leather shoe soles!

decline in popularity, tap danced moved
to the Vaudeville stage. That was beyond popular back then after Civil War!
