These projects were finished , but the importance of
these projects is still enormous.


In 2001:
The Van Berlos employ staff build The first Smartest Home
of the Netherlands and the home has already attracted
many thousands of visitors

Nowadays :
The dream comes true and all important devices and appliances can be interconnected and it is possible to control them all with accessible user interface ( Mobile, Keypad, etc ... ) that make everyday activities easier and lower dependence on other persons.

technology aimed at making the lives of older people easier and
more comfortable.

In 1998
: Ad van Berlo and his wife Corien van Berlo,
execute projects and
start experiments to setup
Smart Homes together.




In 1999:
Hollywood released "Smart House" which was a comical depiction
of a family that lived in a house of the future. Other science fiction
films released years before "Smart House" Very few people who
saw these films believed that the prediction of smart homes would
ever reach fruition.

Sensitive alarm will be used to detect smoking in areas where it's fixed such as kitchens .
It detects if there were a fire or smoke it lets a holes of water open, calling 911 to get a help and alarm you over your smartphone.

Advantages
- Early fire detection in many areas
- Easy technology

Disadvantages
- dead batteries steam maybe deceptive
- limited technology


To take specific actions when detect water leakage such as :
- Turn off the water source valve
- Turn on the alarm system
- Send an alarm message

Technology Used
ZigBee is the wireless language that everyday devices use to connect to one another , ZigBee works for you. Testing your temperature, controlling your lights, even opening your drapes; keeping your home the way you like it.

A ( .NET framework ) & C# language and .NET virtual machine Used for execution and testing SO the Home Manager can run on a Windows system .
2 -Arduino Uno :

The main piece in our project is an arduino ATmega328 kit attached by GPRS/GSM Shield .
The Arduino GSM Shield connects our Arduino to the network. Plug in a SIM card from an operator offering GPRS coverage and also you can also make/receive voice calls and send/receive SMS messages.
A relay is an electrically operated switch .
Motion & Temperature sensor .
How to use Smart Phone :
1- Using direct message form mobile to the GSM Shield.


2 -Using social sites, in this project we used the twitter web site.

3- Install the application on smart phone (Android platform) & Set the password and the initial secret code.

How Solar Works

We can change sunlight directly to electricity using solar cells. Every day, light hits your roof's solar panels with photons (particles of sunlight). The solar panel converts those photons into electrons of direct current ("DC") electricity. The electrons flow out of the solar panel and into an inverter and other electrical safety devices. The inverter converts that "DC" power (commonly used in batteries) into alternating current or "AC" power. AC power is the kind of electrical that your television, computer, and toasters use when plugged into the wall outlet.

Grid-tied systems are great for lowering your electrical bill, but require a connection to the utility company and go down when the grid goes down. Consider a grid-tie with battery backup system or a Kohler Generator for emergency power.Off-grid systems allow you to live and work with electricity in areas where utility power is either unavailable or too expensive to bring in. Off-grid is more about independence, but by living within your means, financially and energy-wise, you do save money.
