Transcript of Johnson Journey

Name changes to Johnson Bible College because students petition for the name to include the word "College" instead of "School"
Oren E. Long Graduates from Johnson Bible College. He was a governor of Hawaii. Prior to this he was a social worker and educator in Hawaii.
John Scott and Allen Miller Graduated. The Scott-Miller banquet is named after them. They started the tradition of donating turkeys for students who didn't go home for the holidays.
1925
Ashley Johnson dies. His wife, Emma Johnson takes over presidency for two years until she also passes away.
Alva Ross Brown becomes president. He was the youngest college president of that time at age 22.
Robert Monroe Bell becomes president. He was a professor of Economics. Under his presidency the school became co-ed.

Glenn Bourne graduates from Johnson Bible College. Later becomes a professor at Central Florida Bible College.

David Eubanks becomes president. He has been involved in Johnson's history for

of the school's existence.

Fred Craddock graduates. He is a professor of Homiletics. As One Without Authority brought many new ideas for homiletics.

Central Florida Bible College is founded at First Christian Church of Orlando.

First school year. Some of the faculty who have been there since the beginning are James E. Smith (1975), Twila Sias (1975), Glenn Bourne (1978), Lyle Bundy (1983)
1980
First Graduating class of Central Florida Bible College
CFBC moves to Kissimmee Campus and is renamed Florida Christian College. The construction began in 1984 on the 40 acre plot of land.
1992
Arron Chambers graduates. He is a widely known author and is lead minister at Journey Christian Church in Colorado.
1994
Library building is constructed.
The Tribble Student Union Building (constructed in 1990) was hit by the hurricanes that came through in 2005.
2007
Gary E. Weedman becomes president of Johnson University. He is the current president for both Johnson campuses.
