Islamic Contributions to the World Zoology Medicine Literature Art and Music Zoology is the study of animals. Some wrote books about how to make animals into medicine and others wrote, describing the structure of animals bodies. In the 800s, a scholar named al-Jahiz even thought about the evolution of animals. Muslims also created zoological gardens, now known as zoos, where exotic and unheard of animals were displayed. Muslium doctors made the worlds first hospitals.
