Transcript of Caliph Al Ma'mun

Caliph Al Ma'mun Harun Al Rasheed died in 809 AD
He appointed his son, Al Amin, to be heir of the caliphate and Al Ma'mun to be Al Amin's successor.
After Harun died, Al Amin acknowledged his brother’s almost absolute sovereignty over the eastern provinces of the empire, with his seat at Merv in Khorāsān (now in Turkmenistan),but he soon stripped Al Ma’mun of his rights in succession and appointed his son to be his heir
This results in a civil war and Al Ma'mun coming into power in 813 AD where he reigned at Merv. Caliph Al Ma'mun Abu Ja'far AbdAllah Al Ma'mun Ibn Al Rashid
