**3D Shapes**

design by Dóri Sirály for Prezi

A cube has 6 faces that are equal in length. A cube also has 8 vertices and 12 edges. The faces on a cube are all square. either solid or hollow, having this from approximating it.

A prism has no curved edges or sides. A prism has no point at the top of the shape to join the sides of the shape.

Cube

A pyramid is a polyhedron that has a base, which can be any polygon, and three or more triangular faces that meet at a point called the apex. These triangular sides are sometimes called the lateral faces to distinguish them from the base.

What is a Pyramid

The net of a 3D object is a shape that can be folded into the 3D object. Some 3D objects have more than 1 net. This is the net of a cone.

What is a Prism

3D Shapes

Rectangular Prisim

A rectangular Prism has 6 faces and 8 verticies. It also has eight edges. The shape of it's faces are all rectangular. Unlike the cube a rectangular prism has unequal sides, to of them are the same and the other to are the same.

Square Baced Pyramid

A square baced pyramid is a pyramid with a square bace. This shape has 5 faces and 5 verticies. It also has 8 edges. The faces on a Square aces pyramid are all triangular except for 1 which is of course square.

Pentagonal Pyramid

A pentagonal Pyramid is a pyramid with a pentagon as it's bace. This shape has 7 faces and 6 verticies. It also has 16 edges. This shape has pentagons and rectangles as it's baces.

Triangular Pyramid

A pentagonal pyramid has 4 faces and 4 verticies. This shape has 6 edges. The shape of the baces are triangles.

Triangular Prisim

A triangular prism has 5 faces. This shape has 6 verticies and 9 edges. The shapes of the faces are triangles and rectangles.

Hexagonal Prism

A Hexagonal prism has 9 faces and 12 verticies. This 3D object has 14 edges. The faces on this object are rectangular and hexagonal.

Hexagonal Pyrimid

A Hexagonal pyramid has 7 faces and 7 verticies. This shape has 12 edges and faces the shape of triangles and hexagons.

Have a nice day folks

bye!!!

Did you know that there

is no such thing as a 3D shape?

Well a 3D shape is a flat

object and a 3D object is what

we would call it.

Did you know that a cube has 6 ways of making it's net.

did you know curved 3D shapes such as cylinders, cones and spheres are not polyhedrons.
