Not long after, a key competitor, Phones 4U,
went into administration
Dixons Carphone wanted to achieve a
of the P4U market share - and saw recruiting ex P4U staff as critical to acheive this
The race was on to recruit!
The client needed 1,500 additional staff

We helped to identify 918, trained ex-P4U staff from their application pool

And helped our client to recruit a large proportion of them

As part of a wider XLOS project, the PwC data analytics team mapped the right candidates to the right stores

...identify stores where sales were potentially being lost
...track candidates and recruit
them to their nearest store
...manipulate and analyse their people data

and easily see where their top priority vacancies were
It allowed them to easily see dormant store locations where they were losing revenue
Our client valued and utilised our analytical input to offer
roles to ex-P4U staff
All in four weeks
Christmas, and the new iPhone launch made it critical to move quickly and avoid lost revenue

We built macros that allowed us to compare and measure locations through Google Maps
Our wider PwC team also
TUPE transferred 802 ex-P4U staff
The XLoS data & analytics strategy and investment has paid dividends

Its has enabled this first use of tableau in a people analytics context
