My name is Cara Chen, and I am going to teach or just to clarify on how to convert fractions/decimals/percents into fractions/decimals/percents.
How to Convert from FRACTIONS
More Problems to Solve
To convert percents into fractions, all you have to do is put the #%, as the numerator and put 100 as the denominator.
EX: 67% = 67/100
With percents that are higher than 100%, improper fractions can be used.
EX: 483% = 483/100
Converting percents to decimals is even easier. You have to put the #% behind the decimal.
EX: 48% = 0.48
But, if it was a percent higher than 100%, then you would have to go to the whole numbers place.
EX: 126% = 1.26
Another way to explain it is that you move the decimal to the LEFT 2 spaces.
When you have a fraction, you have to divide it. To do that, you have to put the numerator on the inside or as the dividend, and put the denominator on the outside as the divisor. Then divide. Use the decimal point when the divisor can't divide through the dividend.
This has to be a 2-step process for it to happen. First, you have to convert the fraction into a decimal. Then, you have to convert it into a percent.
For this one, it is very simple. All you got to do is move the decimal 2 digits or place values to the RIGHT of the number, and put it as a percent. That's it.
Put the number at the top and put the place value as the denominator.
EX: 0.45 = 45/100 because, 45 goes to the hundredths place value.
But also, you can do it with a whole number in front too.
EX: 7.32 = 732/100
