Presented by STRESS & STRESS MANAGEMENT Stress is the body's reaction to a change that requires a physical, mental or emotional adjustment or response. CAUSES OF STRESS Stress can come from any situation or thought that makes you feel frustrated, angry, nerves or anxious. You may feel stress when you go on a job interview, take a test or run a race etc. A lot of things can cause stress. Eu stress: This type of stress is good, energizing and does not harm the body.
Distress: This type of stress is bad and takes a physical tall. TYPES OF STRESS Alarm reaction

stress and they can be avoided. ALTER A Knowing what makes you stressed already helps bring a sense of control to your environment Let others know what your limits are; learn to say ‘no’ ... small ADOPT Adopt a healthy life style; you can increase your resistances
to stress by strengthening you physical health Accept à when all else fails you need to learn to let go ACCEPT These coping strategies may temporarily reduce stress, but they cause more damage in the long run.

Relaxation General Strategies Focusing on positive thought and mind from any form of negativity. A persons attitude can influence whether or not a situation or emotion is stressful. A person with a negative attitude will often report more stress than would someone with a positive attitude. Attitude/Behavioral Change Not getting enough physical activity can put the body in a stressful state. Physical activity program can help decrease depression if it exist. it also improves the feeling of well being. Physical Activity A poor diet puts the body in a state of physical stress and weakness in the immune system. As a result, the person can be more likely to get deceases. A poor diet mean unhealthy food choices, not eating enough or not eating on a normal schedule, these can cause a person to not get enough nutrients. Nutrition Most every one needs someone in their life they can rely on when they are having a hard time. Having little or no support makes stressful situations even more difficult to deal with. Support system people with no outside interests, hobbies or ways to relax may be unable to handle stressful situations because they have no outlet for their stress. Relaxation Go for a walk
Spending time in good nature
Call a good friend
Sweat out tension with a good workout
Write in your journal
Take a long bath
Savor a warm cup of tea or coffee
Play with kids or pet.
Work in your garden RELAXATION TECHNIQUES Take long, deep breath exercise
Practice Yoga

A fast heartbeat
A headache
A stiff neck and/or tight shoulders
