An Introduction to "Flowers for Algernon" This story comes in three forms,
a short story, a novel, and a movie.
The author, Daniel Keyes, won a Hugo
award for best short story in 1960, and
later won a Nebula Award for best novel. The gist of the story is this; two doctors work together to develop a way to increase the intellegence of a mouse, Algernon, and a mentally retarded man named Charlie. The Characters The Gist Charlie Gordan Algernon Miss Kinnian
