Today, China has the biggest economy in Asia, but if current trends continue, China can become the biggest economy in the world by 2030, or even as early as 2020.
That just shows how much China has changed and imrpoved from the Great Leap Forward

In 1959 things began to go wrong, the farmers got badly produced equipment and the money was wasted
Coal began to be a problem in China, it was used too much and China became polluted
How did it work out?
The Great Leap forward was a failure, millions starved and died, and the economy fell
The Great Leap Forward had some positives, it extinguished communism from China
What was the Great Leap Forward?
The Great Leap Forward was Mao's attempt to modernize China's economy to rival America's economy.
