Types of Dance Jazz Tap Ballet Latin Classic Ballroom Jazz was referred to the dance style of African Amarican dancers from the late 1800 to mid 1900.
Jazz later evolved to spawn a diverse range of social and concert dance styles.
During later Jazz age popular forms of jazz dance included Cakewalk, Black Bottom and the Boogie Woogie.
Modern jazz is influenced by other forms of dance.
Modern jazz is most commonly seen in Music Videos and in compitive dance. Tap is a form of dance characterized by the taping noise that is created by the metal plates on both balls of the tap shoes.
Tap is influenced by clogging and step dancing.
Tap dancers make frequet use of syncopation. Ballet is a formalized type of performance dance
Ballet emerged in the late 15 century Renaissance court.
Classic Ballet is the most formal ballet
Neoclassical Ballet is a style of ballet that uses traditional ballet moves but is less rigid.
Contemporary Ballet is influnced by ballet and modern dance. Ballroom dance refers to a set of partners danceing.
The earliest ballroom dancing was recorded toward the end of the 16 century. Latin dance has two meanings it can be a form of ballroom dance or a social dance.
Latin dance includes a wide range of dance originating in Latin America and Cuba. Belly Dancing Belly dancing is a western coined name for a tradtional dance especially raqs sharqi.
Most of the movments of belly dancing are done with hips, shoulders, chest and stomach.
Belly dancing has been made popular by Latin American superstar Shakira. Swing Dancing Swing dance refers to a group of dances that developed with the swing type jazz music in the 1920's 30's and 40's.
Forms of swing dance are the Jive, Western Swing and Eastern Swing.
For Competition you would be doing ballromm swing. Historical Dance Historical dance is a collective term covering a wide variety of dance types from the past.
Some of the dance types are Medeival Dance, Renaissance Dance and Baroque Dance. Hip Hop Hip Hop refers to social or choreographed dance to Hip Hop music.
Hip Hop first started in the 1970.
There is three main styles of Hip Hop Breaking, Poping and Locking.
