Transcript of Serengetee
by Courtney Man
Serengetee is a clothing company that gives a portion of their profit to countries in need! They sell a variety of things from clothing and pillows to laptop sleeves and even backpacks. 28 countries have designed a fabric and whichever fabric you buy, 10% of your purchase goes to help that country. So when you wear Serengetee, you truly are wearing the world.
What is Serengetee
In 2011, Jeff Steiz and Ryan Westberg, two college students, met on Semester at Sea, a study abroad program that circumnavigates the globe by ship.
While traveling, they were able to witness the everyday hardships that occur in developing countries.
They collected fabrics from all of the countries wanted to find a way to use these fabrics to make positive change in the world.
They started cutting, sewing, and shipping pocket tees from their dorm room.
With $3,000, they founded Serengetee in 2012.
Serengetee now has a fanbase of over 400,000 followers
