of Forces. What is Tennis? What laws of Motion does Tennis use? Newtons Second Law of Motion Newtons Third Law of Motion Newton's First Law Continued A video demonstrating what I just showed Newtons first law is the law of inertia.
The law of inertia states that "An object in motion will continue to stay in motion unless acted upon by an out side force. This is true when you look at tennis because, when hit, a tennis ball will continue moving until it hits an obstacle. As the ball is hit, inertia keeps the ball moving in a constant direction, while gravity pulls the ball downwards to the ground. Once the ball reaches the ground friction acts as an unbalance force and slows the ball down and eventually put it to a stop. When the ball is still, there are balanced forces acting upon it, so it will not move unless it is affected by an outside force or unbalanced force.
Another way to look at it is this: When you smack the ball with your racket, it heads off in a certain direction. However, in space, if you were to hit the ball without any source of gravity near you, the ball would continue in that direction more or less forever, because no external forces would be acting on it. On Earth, however, two major forces are at work: Resistance from the air slows the speed of the ball and gravity pulls the ball toward the ground. When a tennis ball is hit with a racket it has a force being excreted a force on it. Newton’s Second Law of Motion answers how much force. To find that, the formula of Force equals mass times acceleration would be used. In this equation, mass is measured in kilograms and acceleration in a unit called "meters per second per second." People often get Acceleration confused with speed, but the truth is that Acceleration isn't the same thing as speed; rather, it's the rate at which something is speeding up. Newtons third law of motion, or the law of action reaction, states "Every action has an equal and opposite reaction." This is shown in tennis because when the ball hits the ground the reaction given by the ground causes the ball to fly into the air, hit the ground, and bounce up again. In that scaneraio, the ball hitting the ground is the action force, while the ball bouncing up is the reaction force. Tennis takes into account Newton first law: the law of inertia, Newton's second law of motion, or the law of F=ma, and Newtons
third law of motion, or the action-reaction law. Tennis is a sport that simply requires a minimum of two people; each on opposite ends of a court. The objective of Tennis is to hit the ball from one end of the court to another without getting it out of bounds.
The history of tennis dates back several thousand years. The game was first created by European monks that played the sport for entertainment purposes during religious ceremonies. To begin with, the ball that is now known as the tennis ball was originally hit with the hand, but because it was too difficult and painful to hit with a hand, the leather glove came into existence, and, as time went on, that glove was replaced with a handle so that the players could have more control, comfort, balance, and power when hitting the ball. First Law- When Mario or any other player hits the ball, inertia causes it to continue in a straight direction while gravity pulls the ball down towards the other side.
Second Law- When Mario hits the ball, it travels at a different rate to the othre side because of the amount of force he exerts on the ball.
Third Law- when the ball hits the ground on the other side, the grounds reaction force causes the ball to bounce.
