J.R.R. Tolkiens death
Tolkien had died in 1973 at the age of 81 years old. He was buried at Wolvercote Cemetery, Oxford, United Kingdom.
what was he known for?
He was known for writing "The Hobbit"in 1937 and "The Lord of The Rings trilogy" in 1954-1955.

The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings have been the most popular books that has ever been written by him. He had sold over ten million copies.
His Childhood and Youth
Tolkien had two brothers and one
sister, but his older brother Arthur Tolkien had died from peritonitis. Also, his sister Mabel Tolkien had died in 1904. Now there is only one Tolkien left and that would be the youngest child.

Who was J.R.R. Tolkien
J.R.R. Tolkien was a major scholar of the English language, specializing in Old and Middle English. He was the Professor of Anglo-Saxon (Old English) at the University of Oxford, he has also wrote a number of stories, including the most famously one "The Hobbit" in (1937) and "The Lord of the Rings" in (1954-1955), which the books are set back in a prehistoric era in an invented version of our world which he called by the Middle English name of Middle-earth.
